ADVISORY FROM THE AUTHOR This novel contains sexual situations and adult content. It has very little history. If you like your romance novels to be light on sex scenes and heavy on the history, this isn't the book for you. It is the sixth and final book in the Kellington series, but it's a stand-alone novel. To catch you up....the Duke of Lynwood and his four siblings all found love. Now, it's their friend's turn.

When Bow Street Inspector Joseph Stapleton is sent to Oxfordshire to help the daughter of an earl, little does he know how the mission will affect him personally.

Lady Evelyn Williams must marry within weeks, but she has never met a gentleman of the ton whom she would even consider as a potential husband. Then she encounters the brave, handsome man from London.

NEVER TURN AWAY is the story of a love that defies society's expectations. It also introduces Colin Emerson, Lord Ridgeway, whose story is told in ALWAYS COME HOME.

I haven't even finished this final book, but thought I would stop for a minute to jot down my review while my thoughts are fresh. I bought all of the books after reading Never a Mistress, No Longer a Maid - book one. It was (actually most of the books are) your typical Regency romance with a delightfully headstrong miss, and a rakish hero, with a villain or two thrown in for good measure. The plot lines are also typical but amusing and never boring even if you do think in your head, "Oh, don't do that, you're going to get kidnapped...". And, of course, she does.

My one warning for gentle readers is that the explicit sex in these books escalates to somewhat graphic and that could turn some off. Obviously not moi. I'm looking forward to more by Ms. Driscoll.

Never Turn Away Kellington Book 6 edition by Maureen Driscoll Romance eBooks Reviews

Never Turn Away is the last of The Fabulous and Amazing Kellington series.

Joseph Stapleton A Bow Street Runner and Lady Evelyn Williams, the daughter of a deceased Earl and wealthy Heiress made a delightful couple. The story is so engaging with well developed characters an well developed storyline. Joseph and Evelyn have a very romantic loving and sensual relationship. It took a bit to get to the hot sexual relationship that Ms. Driscoll can write extremely well and tasteful, but it was still a very sensual story. Very fast paced. You want to see this couple get together so much. They so deserve each other.

We also, get a good appearance of the Kellington family. The only problems I had with the story was Jane & Lizzie still haven't had there babies an this is the last book in the series. That was disappointing. Maybe Ms. Driscoll will give a reunion book to completely end the Kellington series. Even a novella would do to finish it out properly. The other problem I had was Joseph's horse Rocinante, the name is very distracting becasue their is no pronunciation for it. I kept stopping just to figure out how to pronounce it!! Maybe its just me! Doing that breaks up a story. I just wish if authors are going to use unusual names they would give the pronunciation for it. Even with that it was still a 5 star book. I Highly Recommend the Kellington series to all the lovers of Historical Romance or any Romance book.
While this concerns a Kellington friend, it still fits as part of their series and is a good wrap up for those characters before moving on into the Emerson family saga. With the introduction of Colin Emerson it's easy to see why Driscoll chose to set a series around him (I've written my own side character that screamed for his own story). The hero and heroine are great, although one does want to smack Joseph for being so oblivious and full of self-doubt. Fortunately he gets his head out of his arse before it's too late and there are only happy endings for our favorite family. Recommended!
Our Bow Street Inspector finds his match with a little Kellington help. I would like to know more about the painting with the former Duke and Duchess in Jasmine House, the addition of which to this story was very intriguing. A bit of danger adds suspense until Joseph finally succumbs to Lady Evelyn despite the class difference.

The only criticism I have is the Christmas scene with the large tree. Prince Albert introduced small table top trees to England but this was during Queen Victoria 's reign, not the Regency post Waterloo.
Book 6 of the Kellington saga features the indomitable Inspector Joseph Stapleton (the family's trusted Bow Street friend and an adopted member) and Evelyn a country miss with a looming matrimonial deadline and a clear disregard for class distinctions. Joseph's struggle to maintain the status quo in spite of his undeniable attraction to the lovely miss and two households of matchmaking servants shows his character. Afterall, it's a lot easier for a male to lift a female in status than visa versa. This union could not only impact the couple but any future children. Will the social pressure of the ton and the greed of larcenous relatives keep this magical couple apart or will true love triumph? It's a Maureen Driscoll novel so the HEA is a given, but the journey is what a reader will enjoy.
I liked Joseph and the plot that addresses class differences. I enjoy explicit tender sex scenes but did not find any in this book; instead this book has explicit mechanical sex scenes that could have been between two uninhibited strangers. I thought the writing was pretty good. One inconsistency was Joseph's effortlessly lifting Evelyn onto her horse in the middle of the book when he has a painful shoulder injury before and after that. Ridgeway and his valet were totally out of place. And what does the title (Never Turn Away) have to do with the book? But it's a good story overall.
I really enjoyed Maureen Driscoll’s novel Never Let Go. I had not read this author before and found her novel to be quite entertaining.

First and foremost this is a love story. It stars two very interesting protagonists, a bow street runner, Joseph Stapleton and a kind noblewoman, Lady Evelyn Williams. These leads are simply perfect for each other. From their first meeting they genuinely like each other. No I-hate-you-but-want-you antics, no game playing, no lying to themselves about their wants and desires.

Joseph is in the country to help Lady Evelyn sort through potential suitors. She must marry to claim her inheritance and does to want to marry a disreputable fortune hunter. Problem is she falls hard for Joseph. He is just as enamored but recognizes the differences in their stations.

There’s a touch of magic in the country and the leads are so likable that the reader roots for them immediately. They have a low simmering romance that boils over. There’s both a sweetness and a sense of spiciness to their encounters. A fine read.
